Description
The ascent to the summit, standing at 1,106 meters above sea level (MASL), spans a trekking distance of 4.6 kilometers. The trail features moderate to rolling terrain, rated with a difficulty of 3/9, making it accessible to many. Hikers begin their journey at the jumpoff point located in Sitio Centro, Barangay Jose Rizal. This area is deeply rooted in the heritage of the Bagobo-Tagabawa people, who refer to the mountain as Buntod Ta Laya. In the Bagobo language, “Buntod” signifies a mountain, while “Laya” denotes a small species of bamboo prevalent at its peak.
